Losing my damn mind already

I'm still in the hospital recovering from a C-Section and DD has Jaundice so she's under the lights. Luckily she gets to stay in our room, though. DH went to work so it's just DD and me. So, I just finish feeding her, put her back under the lights and she conks out. Then I start cleaning up a little and decide that it's good that I'm up and walking so much, so I should go down the hall and get my own ice before I start pumping instead of calling a nurse. It's good for me! So I walk out the door, get half way down the looonnng hall, and hear my patient care tech behind me ask if I was okay. Then it hits me that I totally just left DD all alone in the room to get ice!  

From placenta brain to baby brain... I've arrived.

  I got nearly attacked when I took my son out of the room on a walk with me the day after delivery.. They were like "please keep him in his isolet when you are out of your room".. Made me decide not to leave the room until we went home.

They let me push my DD around the floor in her crib thingy while I walked. But I agree with the "downstairs" analogy, you were probably just secure in th knowledge that there were nursing staff around and didn't think about it. Good for you to be up and around so quickly!
