how do other single moms date

posted 24th Feb
I barely have anytime without my kids and i cant seem to find a guy that understands that or i dont even have time to date. I would really like to not be alone for the rest of my life until my kids got older. I am tired of being alone i would like to find a guy who doesnt mind spending time with me and my boys but im not even sure if sucvh a guy exists.

It's not fair to your children to force them to interact with a guy you are just getting to know....

I went on my very first day last week around valentines day. Not quite a date though bc we are just taking things slow. My parents were more than happy to watch LO. However in your case if you don't have grandparents that live near by I would maybe hire a babysitter. We also plan on doing things as a couple that we can take LO with us this spring and summer like going to the zoo, going swimming at a hotel that has an indoor waterpark since my LO won't be able to be out in the sun too long. You just have to be creative and think of fun things the two of you can do together that involve your children and hire a baby sitter for an occasional night out alone.

I don't introduce them to my kid.

My daughter met one boyfriend when she was 3.5 because we were getting serious, and one just before she turned 5, because he's her sister's father. I've had more boyfriends than that but none were serious enough to meet her and i'm not going to drag her along on a date with different guys because it's more convenient for me.

I have several family members willing to watch her for a night, and on the very rare occasions where they're all busy, I have two paid babysitters I trust that I can call. I usually get out every other weekend, if not every weekend (not always on dates though, usually I go out with friends.)

I dont want to introduce my kids to anyone unless were serious but thats where my problem is i dont have anyone to watch them my mom works all the time and she works the night shift. The boys dad never wants to take them and the last time he did i found out that his girlfriend who the boys have never met was with them the whole weekend. and their other grandma says she cant handle them both at the same time. I have noone else to watch them so i guess im just gonna be alone for the next few years

My boyfriend used to come over after LO was asleep. He was VERY understanding of my situation and the fact that we never had many dates because I don't like being away from my son. He was very patient with me and we spent a lot of time talking on the phone/texting. He never pressured me and now he and my son get along also well. My son absolutely loves him and my boyfriend ALWAYS includes LO when we do things. A guy will find you who really will embrace you, your kiddos, and your situation.

I didn't introduce my son to my current husband until we had dated for at least 6 months. In that time frame I had to cancel plenty of dates and he was completely fine with it and understood... And now we're married... The right guy will understand

If you can't afford a sitter for your dates, then you should be focusing on something other not being alone, more like bettering yourself to get a better job, to afford a sitter, just saying.

There's a difference between social interaction and dating. If your a single mom who can't afford a sitter, you should reallly be worrying about that, before finding a dick, just saying.

someone always has to come into single dating threads to tell a single mom to focus on other things. pisses me the smurf off. Any married new mom is told to get out, still spend time wtih SO, take care of yourself and your needs.

but when you're doing it ALL as a single mom, suddenly ALL your focus should be on the kids or job.. like single moms don't deserve happiness

I'm assuming you're married? looking to date has to do with a LOT more than finding someone to sleep with. It's about finding a connection, someone to lean on, talk to, interract with. stop being so smurfing judgemental.

I didn't realize there's an income limit you have to meet before you're allowed to have intimate relationships.
