Sex after Laparoscopy surgery...TMI

so I’m 5 weeks past my first laparoscopy surgery and I’ve noticed that whenever I have sex it hurts. Like in my lower abdomen inside when I orgasm it hurts. Is this normal? I’ve had mixed answers from my other endo sites, and I don’t know what to think anymore. I had planned on asking my doctor at my appointment yesterday but it got canceled. It’s not an unbearable horrible pain or anything like that, just a mild discomfort I guess.

my doctor told me we could have a normal sex life after 2 weeks....but it was painful for me, so we ended up waiting about 3 weeks and it was fine. The first time it didnt hurt during sex, it was afterwards.....it was the worst cramping I ever had. If its been 5 weeks I would definitely talk to my doctor about, you should be healed up after that long!

Yeah....I cant remember how soon afterwards I had sex....
but I dont remember any pain....I dont think it was that long as we where TTC...

that's what I was afraid of but my doctor told me at my post op that I can have sex again and that's when we started again, plus we're trying to get pregnant so sex is kinda important, lol. It only hurts when I orgasm, so I guess I could bd without that but man....talk about sucky   I haven't had a positive OPK so I guess I could just wait until I get a positive before having sex again. I'm afraid to tell my DH that it hurts because I know if he knew it would worry him and he wouldn't want to anymore.

that's exactly how it was, the first few times it was great, no problems and then it hurt a little and now it's like severe cramping.

You had endo all around your uteris right.....your uteris is probably very tender right now....
I would keep trying...with the big O for awhile...and let your doctor know next time you see him...

I had laparscopy and had sex really soon afterward and felt no pain.

Depending on how extensive your surgery was (and yours was-like mine) I had to wait 8 weeks before it was comfortable again. I would ask your dr and see..you may still be healing inside.

I think it is normal to have a little discomfort. It will go away. When they do a Lap, even though it is a little incision when they get in there it's as if they opened you up...

I had a laporoscopy a week ago and was told to wait 4 weeks before having intercourse. However we're looking to start trying asap and in a week I will be in day 11 of my cycle so it would be perfect to get it on. Does anyone know if I should skip a cycle or 2 before TTC? My follow up with my doctor is in 6 weeks and unfortunatelly I can't get any answers over the phone.

my doctor originally told me that I'd have to wait 6 months to TTC and then he changed it to start either after the first cycle or after 6 weeks. I still haven't had a cycle though so he finally just put me on Clomid. today is 7 weeks past my lap surgery. It still hurts to have sex, but not near as bad as it was.

After mine we had to wait 2 weeks and the first time it did hurt a little but afterwars I was fine.
I would wait a few more days and speak to your doctor.
