how can kids watch the same thing over and over

camerons hooked on this one 25 minute episode of mighty machines... and hes watched it over and over today. its like why dont you watch another episode because ive already started to memorize everything it says

I have no idea , but I am so sick of Tangled, Tinkerbell and Brave I could smash my head in. Lol

Cylus was stuck on the construction work one FOREVER!! Then the fire engine one....It never ends!

mine cant get over xmas and wants to watch arthurs christmas or the polar express almost every night

I was SO glad when sprout finally quit playing the Caillou Christmas special!! We had to watch it every time it was on!!

Idk but I've watched the land before time about a million times in the past few months.

My son has been obsessed with that movie journey to the center of the earth, and the second one the mysterious island one. He was on a kick of Mr. Poppers penguins too. And he watches sponge bob all day, even if he's playing he has super sonic hearing where if I try changing it he notices and makes me keep it on  

Why does anyone watch/read/do/eat/experience something over and over again?

Why do I listen to my favorite song over and over?
Why does my daughter want mashed potatoes and green beans today, even though she had them last night?
Why do you read your favorite book over and over?

Because you get something out of it. Enjoyment, stimulation, happiness, peace, excitement. Whatever.

No different for kids. The things they enjoy are meant to appeal to them, not to us, so of course they can find joy in it over and over while we can't! But I'm pretty sure my 9 year old can't find enjoyment in reading Jane Austen over and over again yet either, while I can.

My son watched Monsters inc for 8mths straight from the time he woke up till he went to bed.... I can say the movie word for word... Now he's like that with thomas the train and my girls with finding nemo.... I want to beat my head against a wall lol,

I have an app on my phone that let's kids watch you tube videos that are kid friendly and play games. There is this one song he listens to over and over it's like a minute long. I have been able to distract him from my phone. It was more when he was sick but omg I was singing it in my sleep.

I don't get how somebody can read the same book over and over and over again. The plot is ruined after reading it the first time

Ill read a book 2times just to see if I missed a clue or a hint now that I know the ending just to see. After that I can't do it.

I don't know, it's funny how kids like that lol. I still listen to the same song over and over sometimes lol.
