hey mamas.... If you are in college and aren't working how do you manage it?

Im a single mom, I go to college full time and work close to full time... I really don't think i can keep this up once I am in the nursing program. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can financially not have to work through school? I get 7,000 a semester in finacial aid which is about 4,000 after school expensise which isn't enough to pay for daycare, rent, bills, carpayment, insurance or any of that fun stuff.

I worked part-time while in nursing school. I had to. Class and clinicals all week, then work every weekend. I was broke, though.

I'm graduating from nursing program on April fourth and there's no way I would be able to do it without my husband!! Is there anyway you could move back home or get a roommate until you're done with school? Can you qualify for any sort of government assistance or low income housing?

I worked up until I had my son (14 hour shifts every Saturday and sunday) on top of the nursing program Monday-Friday. There was no way I could work during the week. Once I had my son, we just couldn't afford daycare so thankfully my SO makes enough and we live in his parents basement so we have no rent to pay. You could take out a student loan to help pay for everything. Or just work the weekends or even some on the weekends would be better than nothing!

im in low income housing and its still 525 a month and I do get food stamps... but still... i make 1250 now and its hard to cover my bills

You should be getting more in financial aid and grants. Can you up the amount you're receiving? Juniors and seniors should be getting 12,500 in direct loans and up to 5500 in pell grant.

Are you considered a dependent student? Do you live on your own and support your little ones? If so, you should be independent. You should be getting at the minimum 9500 in direct loans alone.

a semester?? Im independent, I get 14,000 a year in grants and loans (2 semesters) which is 8,000 a year after schooling expenses which is like 670 dollars a month to live off and my rent alone is 525

No, per academic year. Depends on whether you're dependent or independent.... and what level you are (freshman, sophomore, etc).
as well as what your EFC for pell grant is

oh gottcha... yeah i know i get 14000/academic year all together so that is prob about right.
