1 cm dilated and 50% effaced how long do i have to wait?

on monday i started having contractions and i lost my mucus plug later that day we went to the hospital cause i thought i was leaking water and found out i wasnt but i was 1 cm dilated and about 30% effaced at my drs apt on wed i was checked and they said i am now 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced and my baby boys head is really low. ive been having contractions all week and it is driving me crazy they will come and go and then come again get consistant then just stop. i dont know how much more of this i can take. how long does this last for? any help ive read you can be in early labor from hours to days to even weeks before you have you baby. i cant stand this on an off thing for another week or two.

no one knows. could be hours or weeks.

Why wait? Just start pushing.

Went to L&D on the 19th for contractions and spotting and found out I am 1cm dilated.

Still having contractions but havent dilated more :-/

like you said, could be hours to days to weeks. No way to know.

just be patient. you won't be in labor forever!

First pregnancy I was 3cm from 7mos on, I had her 6days late.

Third pregnancy I was 2cm 70% at 34wks, 3cm 80% at 35. I was induced at 38wks and was almost 4cm and 90% at induction.

17 more days. More or less.

you feel her pain? you should be THRILLED you haven't dilated more.. you're not due for another month.

Anywhere from tomorrow till roughly 4 weeks 3 days from now?

Meaning I feel her pain on the constant contractions. Obviously I dont want him born this early or I wouldnt have kept up with this lame ass bedrest for the last almost 5 weeks :-/

Obviously! I never said "omg I want him out now!"

She said she has contractions and i said I feel your pain. End of story.

I was 2.5cm and 60% for 2 weeks; then 3cm and 75% from 35 to 37, when my water broke I went it at 4/5cm (can't remember) and 100% effaced.

ETA- I was hospitalized at 33 weeks for preterm labor that they couldn't get to stop, they finally got my contractions down enough to where they felt it was okay for me to go home. I had contractions from then on out.

I was 1 cm dialated with my daughter at 36 weeks and constant contractions. Went 10 days over due with her. I'm not sure how effaced I was as my Dr never mentioned it. I stayed 1 cm for the whole time as well.

You still have time and unfortunately you will continue to have contractions until baby is ready.
