re: 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced how long do i have to wait?

As everyone else said, you could have days or weeks. You're not due for several weeks; you have plenty of time.

With my second baby I was never checked for dilation but my water broke at 36wks and before contractions started I was 4cm, 100% effaced. I never had contractions until several hours after my water broke. My third baby I had conractions fir weeks before I was induced, same with my first.. What you're feeling are likely Braxton hicks and not true labor contractions.

I was 1cm for weeks. I ended up being induced at 40 weeks and 2 days. Everyone is different, though. Good luck!

I was 1 cm and started losing my mucus plug at 30 weeks, constant contractions(3-5 minutes apart) started at 36 weeks, and had him at 41 weeks.

being 1-3 cm dilated doesn't mean smurf really. I'd say you are going to be waiting until close to your due date.
