Bed time need HELP!!!

posted 24th Feb
For about the last month my 2 year old has been deciding to come out of her room every 5 min after we put her down for bed. She never has an excuse and goes right back into bed, but she does this for an hour and a half to two hours. Then every night after she does fall asleep she wakes up two times usually between 3am and 5 am doing the same thing. I've tried everything I can think of, the silent treatment, time outs, yelling, threatening not to do something in the morning. Idk what else to do and with being 6.5months pregnant and not getting to sleep till 11 and woken up twice a night with working 45 hrs a wk....this isn't working.. Any ideas would be great!!

Put a gate in front of her door. If she opens the door to come out, she can't.

I thought of that but she will just stand there and scream instead.

I've got nothing then.
Heathen was and still is good about it. She never got out of bed until we got her. Even when we were potty training her. It took a long time to get her to realize that if she wakes up and has to go, it's ok to get up to go.

Thanks for the input! I'll just have to keep trying. She sometimes goes through stages like this but never has been this frequent. So hopefully she will stop soon! Especially hope before the baby gets here!

My son climbed out of his crib in December so we got him a twin bed. He would not stay in it, and I started out laying with him until he fell asleep. He would take up to an hour to fall asleep that way, and I often ended up passing out in his bed. So then I put a gate in his door and just put him back in his bed every time he got up. I tried not talking or making eye contact, just place him in bed and leave. Being pregnant, this is not easy and my husband and I had been dealing with this for months, sometimes he would be up until 10 or later. Finally I'd had it. I don't normally spank and I really didn't want to, but I have started warning him the first time he gets out of bed that he'll get a spanking, and if he gets up again, I do spank him. Not hard, just to get his attention. He now goes to bed and stays in bed.
