Custody battle

I understand teen moms should be ashamed blah blah, but my son is almost five months old and the father and I were never married but he signed the birth certificate. We split up after our son turned about a month old. He has bought diapers only three times and maybe four packages of wipes. He will buy clothes or his parents will buy our son clothes but they won't let them leave the house. My son lives with me and has been the entire time. His father MIGHT see him only once a week I do not contact him about seeing his son because I don't want to seem like I want to just dump him off and go out. Another thing is the last couple of times he's been to his fathers they were smoking in the house within the same room. My parents go outside to smoke to try and keep the exposure to a minimal. I plan on staying with my parents for the next couple of years till I finish college since they live three minutes from the University. The father does have a job and that concerns me he doesn't plan on college but has mentioned military. I would really like full custody of my son so I won't have to worry about child support problems or my sons health while he's at his fathers. PLEASE HELP!

Unless he is abusive or unfit in some way, it is unlikely that you will get full custody.

I don't want his money I havent been getting a dime from him and I dont care if i get it or not, but I'm saying is my son is around cigarette smoke the entire time he's over there and that is unhealthy. If I win or lose custody but they try to set up some kind of child support thing if he goes away to military like he plans or in future reference I move out of my parents home and he moves out there is no guaranteeing we're staying in the same town, if I had full custody I wont ask for child support or have to look for him after the years.

You apparently don't know what full custody means.

He cheated on you, not his child. Just because he was a smurffy boyfriend, doesn't mean he is a smurffy father.

If you were never married you should automatically have full custody! I no that isn't true for all states but it's true for most...
