teething

My lo is 14 months old and I noticed she felt hot for a few days, took her temp and she was 99.8. We do amber teething necklaces so I never thought of teething but looked in.her mouth. Her bottom left tooth had broke the skin and the right was red and swollen. This is her first tooth. Today the one is not broken.through yet but I can see the imprint of both teeth. The one that popped up looks a little crooked but its just the top. Is this normal? How long will she have the fever? How long until.the 2nd tooth breaks skin? How long until.they pop up to full teeth? I go hylands teething tablets bc we don't do fever reducers. I don't do baby orajel either. She doesn't like teething rings much or frozen.wash cloths. She won't do frozen waffles. Any ideas?

When my daughter is teething I just give her the teething tablets and one of her biter biscuits to chew on or anything thats hard that is safe for her to chew on. She would never do the frozen stuff either. She has 9 teeth currently with another one about to pop out in the back.

Also when I first notice a tooth comming in as in hasnt broken through yet it usually takes a week or so before it breaks through. Not sure about the fever as she has never ran a fever when teething.

Oh ok. So do they feel better after they break the skin? And I do biter bisquits too but she has always chewed on her back gums since 3 months old but she is only teething in the lower front teeth. How long in between each set of teeth popping up? How old was your lo? Mine is a late teether. I'm.wondering if they will all come at once

I'm completely jealous that you are just now having to deal with teething. My DS is 14 months and has 12 teeth. There is really no way to answer a lot of your questions because as you know every lo is different.

Yea I kept thinking one would pop up and everybody says how weird it is. But I teethed late and so did my brother. I read it was healthier to teeth late but Idk.

Its weird seeing them now though lol and I didn't expect the fever. She also poops a lot but thank God she eats lots of solids so the poop is solid and not runny due to excess saliva. Poor baby though. I know they hurt.

Yeah, actually 99.8 is a pretty low fever. I've heard of lo's getting fevers of like 102 just from teething. My son likes those freezer pop things when he is getting in a really bad tooth.

My dd got her front teeth first and just chewing on anything she could get her hands on. She started those at 5 months. She has her 4 front top and 4 front bottom and for her it was two at a time. Shes getting her back teeth now and she mainly just chews on her thumb for those. Or when I give her one of the biscuits she will just hold it in the back and gnaw on it for a while til its too mushy for it to do her any good. Probably shouldn't be too much longer for them to pop through.
