Hey!   So im wanting to donate milk and i'll even wet nurse if someone needed. I just wanted to know if any one of your ladies have ever donated and or, fed your baby someone elses milk ?

I can understand donating it.

I'd never let another woman breast feed my child & I wouldn't breast feed anyone else's child, though.

I wouldn't wet nurse, nor would I hire a wet nurse.
I would use/ donate milk if I needed to or could.

If there was a way to guarantee the woman was eating right and not excessively drinking caffeine/alcohol or abusing any sort of drugs, I'd consider feeding my child another woman's breastmilk. It would be hard to trust they were being responsible though.

I've donated. I've also nursed one of the babies I donated to.
I'd use donor milk of needed and I'd let my baby nurse from someone else if needed.

What's wrong with wet nursing? My childhood friend is due two months before me and we think it will make it easier, when I babysit for her I can nurse instead of making up bottles and vice versa. As long as your not dirty or have a disease transmitted through breastmilk, I don't see why it's "weird" or "not okay"...

Ya i understand that. I'd be the same why, but they're like a screening thing done to the milk

Not interested but if someone really wants it and another adult really wants to share I see no issues.

I would never let my baby sitter breast feed my child. That's odd to me. If I breast feed that's between me and my baby, that is our thing. It's not between my baby and someone else's mother.

I wish we had had donated milk available in nicu! I would have used it in a heartbeat! My milk took a little longer to come in for them to wait. I cried about giving dd formula. My sister has breastfed Dd and I have breastfed my nephew. We are very VERY close. I would never nurse anyone else's baby or let them nurse mine. Aside from my sister of course. Had she been closer she would have nursed Dd in nicu. Our babies were only 3 days apart. I don't think it's that weird.

This is actually why i want to do it, because i have breastfeeding friends too and you never known, so i always have stored milk and such  

Its actually a really awesome thing to do and IF I produce too much milk, then I am going to donate it. They give it to babies in the NICU who can't breast feed but they need something in their tiny tummies.

I don't understand how it could be weird. It's just providing the baby with the nutrition it needs to survive. What about that could be weird?
