spotting at 9 weeks

posted 23rd Feb
At the end of my 8 to 4 shift this afternoon, I used the restroom and discovered that the toilet paper was tinted pink. I examined further and I found some bright-red blood. I'm really worried because I was stressed out most of the day and now I'm having pains in the right side of my abdomen.
I'd like some mother's opinions on whether or not I should go to the hospital. My doctor's appointment is on Monday morning, but I'm really scared and I'd like some advice on what to do.
Thanks in advance

It could be nothing. Try drinking water and putting your feet up.

That's comforting to hear, here's hoping this is just normal. I didn't spot at all with my first pregnancy so I'm slightly freaking out :/

I didn't bleed with my first two pregnancies but with our third I bled from 5 weeks 3 days to 17 weeks 4 days. A ton of tests and no reasoning. We have a healthy full-term 6 month old.

I've got my feet up and I'm trying to relax. I'm just glad my son decided he wanted to nap right when I got home from work haha.

It can be normal to spot while pregnant. After working a shift, especially being stressed out and probably on your feet it was probably just from doing too much. Try to relax as much as you can, and let your doctor knows whats going on at your appt.

I spotted from 5 weeks to 13 weeks... It could be nothing, it could be something. But just rest for the day and drink water! Monitor it and call your ob on Monday just to let them know what's going on.

I had an irritated cervix and anytime I was on my feet a lot or lifting my son it made it worse... But I'm 16 weeks now and everything is fine.

Does your OB's office have an after hours line? For peace of mind, you could call them or possibly the ER to see if you should come in. When I started spotting at 17 weeks, I was urged to come in right away for safe measures. Take it easy & stay off of your feet as much as possible. Good luck!

An update:
I called my OB at around 6:30, the bleeding was getting heavier every time I went to the restroom so I was worried. After explaining what was going on, she asked me to go to the ER. We JUST got home. We got there at about 7:15 pm and walked into the house at about 12:45 am.

They took blood, did an external and internal ultrasound and a pelvic exam.
The ER Doc thought my hormone levels looked ok, but he wanted to make sure that the numbers doubled by Monday. He also found a cyst on one of my ovaries and I had some sort of bacterial overgrowth. I'd never heard of the overgrowth thing but he said it was normal and he prescribed me antibiotics. He also said the cyst should go away on it's own but he's going to tell my OB to keep an eye on it.

I need plenty of rest and antibiotics every 6 hours. I'm glad I went to the hospital. Thank you ladies for your advice and support! <3
