Have you had it? Is it good? What kind of meat was it?

Obviously (as an Arab) I've had it A LOT lol in multiple countries.

Always either lamb/beef mixed or chicken.

I also make pretty decent generic shawarma

What does it taste like? I am making DH try it since I don't eat meat.

Umm...it's kind of hard to explain? It depends on first of all whether you get the platter or the sandwich. The meat itself usually tends to be a bit salty. The lamb/beef you can take clove as well. It's tender, a little chewy. If you get it on the sandwich they usually put tahini or garlic sauce on the bread with salad and meat. So you might taste a lot of garlic as well. It's very mild, the spices aren't overwhelming but definitely not "american" tasting at all.

If we go. What is good and vegetarian?

Looks yummy!

Manaqeesh is awesome appetizer especially if you love earthy flavors.
Hummus, Baba ghanouj and foul medammes are all good choices for dips. I especially like foul.

If you like okra then Bamiya would be a good choice, I'm actually making it tonight for dinner (with lamb) but it looks like they have meat and no meat versions. Fasoulia is good too, it's white cannelini beans. I make it a lot and they have a great flavor. Sabanikh is good too.

Any of the salads are vegetarian but I would recommend tabouleh or fattoush.

Falafel and eggplant sandwich sounds yummy also. I think arabs are the best at making eggplant.

Muhalabia for dessert because YUM!

If I were going, as an Arab, without eating meat... I would probably order:

Hummus and Manaqeesh for appetizers with plain bread on the side as well.

Fasoulia (with white rice).

Eggplant and falafel sandwich.

Fattoush to go on the side.

Muhalabia or baklava for dessert.

Vimto to drink with the meal and then follow it with hot tea or mint tea especially if you get baklava for dessert.

I don't like baklava.   That's a lot of food though. I doubt I could eat that much. I would probably do hummus, falafal and eggplant sandwich, fattoush and muhallabia out of what you suggested. What is imto?

Vimto is an Arabic soda. It's red and super yummy. I almost never drink soda, but when I do, it's vimto, lol.
