Knee surgery *pic*

My knee surgery was Tuesday
They did a medial patella femoral ligament reconstruction. He drilled holes in my knee cap and the bone on the side of my knee and placed kadavar ligaments in.
They tried to do a nerve block to help with pain but it failed.
I finally got out of the hospital yesterday,it was supposed to be same day surgery but the pain was too much.
I can't not wear my prosthetic for at least 3 months,so no walking. But I did get a new wheelchair so it's going to help a lot

This is my knee now

I'm saying with MIL for a few more days but will be going back home with LO (2 years) early next week,probably Monday.and I'm nervous about taking care of him alone. He's already ran into it last night and then tried to jump on it  


Advice in getting him to chill out around me?

Ouch I hope you heal up fast.
2 is a hard age since they don't quite understand everything completely yet, your probably just going to have keep reminding him that you have an boo boo and he needs to be very gentle.

Being 9 months pregnant I constantly remind my daughter to be gentle around my belly, she occasionally forgets but has been really good about, Im just sure to remind her especially if shes a bit on the routy side. Shes also 2.

I'm pretty happy I got a new one,DH is building wheelchair ramps in the house for me before I come home

thats good... I hope it electric but, that has to suck i would have never guessed u wore one in the pics u post it does not look like it.

I had the same exact surgery! Your incision is much smaller. i wasnt supposed to bend my knee for 8 weeks and couldnt even bend my knee at a 90 degree angle for about 5 months qfter surgery. Therapy was soooo long.. My knee still swells up and i can squish around all the fluid, and it gets tight and sotuff.


Good luck, i remember how bad it hurt.. They gqve me vicodin,but if i ever had that surgery again, id probaboy smoke a bunch of weed instead to feel better. Lol

Yeah he said I'm supposed to bend and straighten it slowly but do not bend past 90 degrees until he says its ok.
I'm on OxyContin extended and Percocets,I was on that and morphine in the hospital.
It's so painful.
