Your child's bed

posted 23rd Feb
What does your child's bed look like? We're looking at new bed options for our kids. We'd like either a loft bed, or a bed with storage. What do you have? Do you like it? Nice quality?

Thanks!

We went to Ashley and got DD a bed with trundle and storage. I love it. She loves it. And it's nice to just have to pull out the trundle when her cousin stays over.

Lambie's twin bed is really tall, I think it's meant to have a trundle bed underneath, but we actually turned some book cases on their sides and slid them under, then behind that we had tupperware bins of clothes we were saving for Chloe. This is her bed, we got a sweet deal at JC Penny's [$128]. It's pretty solid, I'm happy with it...I wish we would've bought 2 though, since our girls share a room. But, the baby is still in the crib...

Stock photo: It's set on the lower setting in this pic, we have it on the highest.

And our son has a bunkbed w/3 drawers under, but I don't think I have any pics of that.

U can get a trundle bed or a trundle storage. Lylian picked this bed out for when her and Scarlytt bunk up in a couple years...

It's a trundle bunk bed with shelves. It's probably an arm and a leg but worth it in our small house.

That's her room. Her bed isn't what you're looking for, but what I really like about it, is that it's in a distressed ivory finish. It's the kind of bed that she'll have for a long time.. and because the finish is well.. 'disstressed', we're not worried about stains or scratches, which will inevitable happen over the years.

Pottery Barn Kids have awesome beds, that was our second choice if this didn't work out - this is Ethan Allen

Joeys bed is South Shore brand, 3 drawers underneath, blue finish. Its not put together yet though, but it had good reviews.

Kieran just asked for an up down bed(loft bed) but I just dont know if I trust him on it yet. I wish I could find something really sturdy for him. Hes destroyed a set from Ashley's. A toddler bed, his crib that we converted to a toddler and one of those plastic toddler beds that takes a crib mattress.

I'm watching the thread in the hopes that someone can list something that is sturdy yet affordable just in case hes able to break it. And in case this comes off really bad hes not destructive in the sense he likes to destroy things, he just enjoys seeing how things are built but cant rebuild things once they are apart. He also is working on his proprioceptive input.

Yea, sturdy & affordable is where we're coming to the dead end. I'm considering just asking my BIL to build one.

See I want to ask my step dad to, hes offered as well but then we're stuck with shipping it out here and that would likely cost more than anything we'd buy.

Yea. I'd ultimately like something with stairs, rather than a ladder. But that ups the price so much. It's just so hard to decide.
