C-Section

I had an emergency c/s done Tuesday. I was released today. I have noticed that Ive been having chills with shakes, extreme fatigue, fever, headache and anxiety. I also noticed my second fat layer (im big) has swollen up. Just under it is the incision. There is no pain, heat, etc coming from it. Could any of this be a sign to go to the ER?

I would! Could be infection, bp problems, allergic reaction

Im on bp meds for high bp. I also am type 2 diabetic.
I am taking antibiotics for infection.
was wondering if the percosec could be cauzing these problems

You should really go in asap

The doc put me on antibiotics for possible uti
Iron supplement for fatigue, caused from blood lose during c/s
Stool softeners for obvious reasons.
bp meds for high bp
ibprophen and Percocet

I just took a shower to help take the edge off which seems to work for a while. Then baby started to cry and instinct took over. I held her and calmed her which Ive noticed also has a calming affect on me. My SO sat next to us and watched as we napped. Me in the recliner and she in my arms.

I feel better now, though Im still a l little worried about the swelling in my lower fatty area. But Im thinking the swelling is normal.

L&D kept me one extra day due to these things. They watched me closely and I dont think they would have released me if I wasnt healthy enough to go home.
Im basically looking for c/s recovery advice from those that have gone through it. Did anyone go through the same things. Especially the swelling. And what did you do?

I know not the same thing, but when I had gall bladder surgery they thought I was well and sent me home.... I was back the next day, I was bleeding internally. They don't always know.. .so I would get looked at.

How did you know to go back? Im swelling in that area but there is no pain. No bruising. They said it could also have red lines appear and it hasnt. I just dont want to stress or worry if not needed. Baby has an appt Monday, and was thinking of having our doc check it out then.

I could hear my heartbeat in my ears... I felt dizzy and light headed.... I didn't know what was wrong but I felt like something was wrong.... I went in sat in the ER for a good hour or two before they got to me... they took blood and came back with a band for getting blood.. I was like what is that for?! You need a transfusion... uh what?! lol... I was sent to ICU, where I was in and out of it... my heart rate was 170ish? give or take... they threaten to give me meds to slow it down...they said it was a good thing I came in. Mine wasn't an infection but if you know something isn't right... go in... because it can get worse..

Well, just to be safe I called L&D and then went to the ER.

Doc said there is light bruising that means I have had some internal bleeding, but that there is no sign that it is getting worse or that there is infection. He said to watch my temp since I am having chills and to come back if it goes over 100 degrees, if the swollen goes from being dough like to hard, or if it starts getting painful.

Gave me a prescription for Xanax since I have been having slight anxiety, especially before bed.

I will have my doctor look at it when I go in for my baby's appt on Monday. And then the staples are supposed to come out on Friday.
