what can they do?

Our lease in our townhouse is up Friday at Noon. What can they do if we aren't out of here until 5pm that night? Anything substantial?

Depends on your lease agreement... I've heard of things happening anywhere from nothing to having to pay the next month's rent to a fee... but it all depends on your lease and how likely they are to actually try and cause problems if your lease does say something.

Call them and let them know, they may not care.

Have you considered just asking your landlord if you can be in there until 5 pm?

Is there any way you can talk to them and just explain, so when, lets say, 2pm rolls around and they see you're still there they won't jump to any strange conclusions?

Did you tell them you were leaving?
When we've done leases and it just usually went from month to month after that.
