Girls Birthday & What to do???

My daughter turns 1 in May and My other daughter turns 4 in July... we are currently not sure if my hubby will be layed off this year due to some merges with his company so anyways usually we spend about $300-$700 on my girls bday... so i was thinking instead of having TWO bday parties...

Would it be ok if we just took the girls to Disneyland maybe in JUNE in the middle of thier bdays..??? Or would you rather have a party for the baby turning 1 and take the 4yr old to Disneyland?? Just trying to find ways to not spend so much yet celebrate both girls since they are close in months??? Thanks ladies...

Celebrate it with you and few people and let the children pick a few things to do on their birthdays.

Some cheaper options by us is to bring them bowling, bouncy house (9.00 per child) and then cook w.e they want for dinner (we even did waffles sundaes)

I'd do a small get together with cake and ice cream for their birthdays and then take them somewhere fun.
I'm over the whole going all out for birthdays thing, my kids just want the food and presents anyway lol.

first off you sound extremely ignorant when it comes to money you said your not sure if your husband will be employed much longer and you want to take your kids to disneyland???

how about they each have their own parties do it at your house the park or a family members house buy a few decorations some food and their gift you dont need to spend that much on a birthday
for DS birthday last saturdy we spent about 40$ on food (i made subs bought chips pop dip veggies and tea) spent 60$ on his present and about 50$ on decor (ballons happy birthday sign pinta (sp) and cups plates napkins and a few other things) you need to put that money aside incase he gets laid off!

well yeah thats the reason why... since they are close instead of having two parties that could be expensive trying to make just one or something like that... and yes we deff want to save as much as we can but regardless we always want to acknowledge our children first...   thanks

I don't really think May & July are all that close, especially to be combining celebrations! However, your 1yo won't know the difference...I would just have small family parties for both on/around their actual birthdays.
