My dog ripped her toe nail out.

The bleeding as stopped and we wrapped it up with gauze and tape, when we were gone she tore it off and it bled all over but just little spots.
I don't want to call the emergency number because this is not an emergency. Is there anything else I can do? The nail is just hanging there.
If she keeps opening it up by "cleaning" it on Monday we might take her in since she needs shots anyway.

My grandma's dog had the top part of her toe ripped off, it never fully healed because she kept licking it. Even years later she would suddenly start licking it obsessively and reopen it. I think since it's a toenail and that will grow back it will probably be okay. If it's just barely hanging on I'd go ahead and remove the old toenail. I doubt she's leave it alone though and you'll probably need to get her a cone. I'd take her to the vet monday just to get it checked out but I think you can buy cones at petsmart.

You probably want to take her to the vet. My cousin's dog has had to have surgery 3 times since October because she keeps ripping her dew claw out.

If you can . Go ahead & cut the toenail off or trim it so she doesnt keep catching it on things . Or itll eventually fall off on its own , but keep it clean with peroxide . When I owned my kennel we lived by this .

Alright when everyone leaves we will try to clip it off.
She won't really let us look at it and she is just laying there, she seems like she is in pain but she hasn't bled through the bandage.
