Quoting doors33:" I'm on Levemir (22 in the morning and 18 and night) and Humalog (6, 6, and 8 for breakfast, lunch and ... [snip!] ... and that's when it was 375. I'm type 1 as well... have been for about 10 years now, which is why I'm so mad at myself... "
I'm about to pick apart what you ate even though I think you know all of this.
When you go low at night, it's a bad idea to just drink a fruity drink and then not eat for hours. Just like drinking juice during the day, it will drop you quick at night too. I normally have to eat some sort of fiber or protein with the juice. I normally do a granola bar or one of those quaker oat cookies with a cup of milk or something like that. Something sugary to bump things up quickly and something to make sure it doesn't drop again before i wake up. I hate eating in the middle of the night when i'm only fake low blood sugar hungry.
Milk takes longer for me personally to process. I'll be ok for a while and then it will jump up an hour or 2 after i've eaten, especially if it's whole milk.
Cereal is a killer for me. It's almost a guaranteed high and then crash. I have to go by exactly what the box says is a serving and then check my blood sugar more often than I would normally. It almost never works out for me. I *always* go low. I really miss Reese's peanut butter puffs.
If i don't feel like eating in the morning, I normally throw some of that no sugar added carnation chocolate powdered stuff in my coffee. That way i get some fiber and protein. Plus it has vitamins too.
I'm on lantus at night. It's 24 hour insulin that my high risk dr recommended during my first pregnancy. Then novalog throughout the day as needed.
I know how stressful all of this can be and how scary, but babies are tough. Your LO is most likely fine. Hormones can make blood sugar go crazy. I'm sure once you iron out the kinks, things will get better. The first couple of nights on a new routine is always tricky.
For now maybe just strip eating down to the basic stuff you know won't do anything weird for a couple of days and then go back to adding the other stuff one at a time?
I hope you get some sleep tonight and things go better in the morning.
