Cats hate vinegar and getting wet in general so a squirt bottle will definitely help.

I don't think I could declaw him... If he ever were to get out I would want him to be able to defend himself if he had to. I couldn't imagine my nails being ripped out, so I couldn't do it to another creature. And I don't want to get rid of him... yeah, he scratches, but he is just playing and we have scolded him to where if we do say "NO" he scampers off.

But this scratch was the worst of them all... ugh. She's a trooper for sure.

People who immediately say "get rid of him" are awful and probably the reason why our animal shelters are constantly full.

Yeah, we have lots of scratchy pads around here lol Plus I trim them at least once a week (started as infants so they're used to it) But my mil told me what they did to declaw cats and no way! I say "no" and ours run off too haha He's still a baby, still learning. I would have cried lol So she's definitely a trooper ;)

I suppose it's my fault since we don't routinely clip his nails  ... time to add that to my list of priorities.

I'm OCD about it. I'd hate for them to scratch our leather sectional or something :/ But I'm also one that bathes them (all the animals) once a month also.
