In my opinion everyone SHOULD be allowed to get married.

Jesus' disciples were allowed to marry. I don't understand why priests shouldn't get to.

Makes sense to me.

I understand why they changed the rules back in the day. The Church was the largest landholder. Priests having legitimate sons would break up that land.

I think it's great. I'm not Catholic, I'm LDS, but at my Church we have an elected Bishop who is a member of the Ward originally and is called to be a Bishop. He could already have a family, he could be married while a Bishop and they generally have wives and families. I'm in support of it 100%, especially considering Jesus Christ had a family himself. Just my opinion though

I think they should be allowed to marry, I think anyone should have that right. I've always thought it was weird that they couldn't, I don't see how being married would hinder them from their duties.

I agree! I actually think that the Bishop is able to relate to his Ward better because they generally have families and often experience the same things that Church Members do.

The Church was the largest landholder. Priests having legitimate sons would break up that land and decrease the amount of power and wealth they had.

Yes priests should be allowed to marry. And we need women priests.

Catholic priests could marry up until I believe the Middle Ages. The church wanted to inherit the priests land which could not happen if the priest was married and had a son. So they decided priests could not marry. This was explained to me by a catholic brother ( the only difference between a brother and a priest is who is allowed to lead liturgy). I think they should be allowed to marry. Though I understand people wanting to stick to such a long tradition.

Exactly! They would be able to truly have a family sense, some I've seen seem to stiff and standoffish when in personal situations.

The bible says that the overseer ( priest for Catholics) should manage his own ride and children well. So it makes no sense that the catholic organization bans priest marriage.
