My sister is into Coach purses, but she usually buys knock offs. I'm looking up designers purses and some of these cost 4-5 times what I paid for my laptop!

I've always bought from the outlet so I've never spent more than $220 on a wallet and purse.

I know some can cost much more especially if you buy off their website. I dont like knock off bags, they generally dont last and you can get into some serious trouble carrying them around because its copyright infringement.

I'm glad my BFF's hubby is a DM for coach bc I can get 50% off retail and 65% off outlet. I'm on my way to see them now & I think it is time for a new one. I try to rotate my purses, but I always gravitate to the same one.

Yes, there was a Target somewhere in south fl that had some purses that an employee brought in & coach slapped them with 1m lawsuit bc if it. Minor to them, but serious about their copyright.

If someone can afford it, then that's their money to do whatever they want with. Personally, I wouldn't buy her a very expensive designer purse. My daughter uses my old designer purses. The only purse I'd ever be willing to buy her would be the mini version of my loungefly hello kitty bag because she's obsessed with mine, and that's only like $30.

My husband just got me a beautiful Furla purse for Valentine's Day.

Anyone who says the quality of the raw materials used to manufacture that, is no different than something at Walmart .. is well, simply wrong.

I find that designer items come with a quality guarantee that you simply cannot get elsewhere. If a wristlet I got at Target busts after a month of use, I wouldn't be surprised. This doesn't mean I don't own 'brandless' items, it just means that I don't expect much from them.

Having said the above. My daughter is 5, and has designer purses, and guess what.. she knows their value and treats them very well. If she wasn't gentle on designer items, I wouldn't buy them for her.

Here's us last weekend, she's sporting a Vera Bradley mini purse and that's the Furla DH got me

Yes, I would. I normally only buy Coach and when I do they're on super markdown clearence at Macy's. I've gotten some as low as $30 before. If she wanted a new clearence one, sure I'd get it for her. I kind of have this thing where I think I don't typically wear target/walmart/kmart smurf, why would I put it on my kids unless it's to knock around in? Same for accessories and shoes and such.

I would never lol. Why would a young kid need a designer purse? Completely pointless IMO.

Sure. My DD takes good care of her stuff and I can afford it, so to me there's no difference between a plastic Hello Kitty bag and a Coach purse. They're used for the same thing after all.

As is, she is in love with her plush Totoro bag and doesn't care about designer stuff, maybe part of being homeschooled? I don't think she'd know a designer purse from a dog carrier, LOL.

If I had a daughter I would not buy her anything designer unless she worked for it. If she worked her butt off with good grades or saved all her allowance money, I would have no problem with getting her one.
