I don't think either should be covered. Personally, soda is disgusting.

I think food stamps should just cover necessities. Neither of those offer nutrition or are remotely close to being a necessity.

It can cover both, I honestly don't care.

I really don't care. Why should I have any say what some one can eat just because the need a little help buying their food?

  I believe it should be run like WIC. Only covering certain items. No luxuries like chips, cookies, soda, ice cream etc. Breads, meats, produce, baking supplies, and milk products.

why does it matter what other people put in their bodies?

I had someone when i worked for Sam's club call center call and bitch at me because they could not afford crab legs but the person buying them was on food stamps... I was like WTF dude talk to the government about that. I still had to send it over to the store lol.... The manager most likely laughed at him but yah.

We got one with my return from school so i can take something with me and i used my Food stamp card first to buy something for my daughter i think it was baby food and it covered the syrup i was like okay then.

If you look at statistics, those in poverty are generally more obese and have more health issues, costing more money on medical procedures. Which also comes out of taxpayer money. Teaching people to eat healthier and stretch their budget on healthier foods, will really help.
