I have the safety 1st all in one and I had to sit it more upright to make more room for the front seats, that carseat is so huge! So far he has been just fine. I don't think it has made a difference to not recline him in rear facing.

if its in the manual not to do it then it can cause the seat to fail in a crash id check ur manual i know some of them RF has to stay at a 45 degree angle when RF.

oh I will have to check then, I didn't see anything saying it had to be that way, it says to use the recline only in rear facing, not when forward facing, but it doesn't say it has to be reclined when RF. I better look online.

SO put the manual in a "safe place"...and forgot where he put it  ....men...haha I thought maybe the weight/height guideline was the same for all convertible seats....I didn't even think of checking for an online manual.

Definitely look at the manual. On my Safety 1st car seat its on the actual carseat. It has a line that needs to be parallel to the ground. The farthest recline is to 22lbs and then you have to move it more upright. DS is 22 lbs at 7 months so he's more upright now.

for the safety 1st all in one the weight for RF is 35lbs, the height is 33".
For forward facing, it harnesses until 45lbs.

ours is a graco but it says right on the seat that the little ball must be in this position when rear facing which is at a 45 degree angle
