Frustrated

My 10 week old daughter has a problem with the formula Enfamil. I have no idea what, but no matter the kind we get she has issues with it. She spits up all the time on it.
With Similac she doesn't spit up at all. I brought this up to her pediatrician telling her that WIC only supports Enfamil unless I get a prescription for Similac. She said it's a pain in the butt to get WIC to switch to Similac and instead prescribed Scarlet with some meds to help her stop spitting up.
I'm sitting here covered in spitup just beside myself. Obviously her body is rejecting Enfamil so instead of switching her she's going to take medicine to force her body to accept it? Am I crazy or does anyone else not see the logic in this?

I would ask her for the prescription to the other formula or go to another pediatrician

Stage 1. It's the only kind I can get on WIC. They give me 5 cans free.

You should try Gentle Ease. WIC will give it to you if your Pedi writes a note and you take it into the office. Gentle Ease helps with the spit up and tummy problem. The stage 1 formula (which I am assuming is the yellow one, same kind I give my 11 month old occasionally) can be hard on a newbs stomach.

I got a free sample of that when she was 2 or 3 weeks old and tried it. She had constipation and spit up after she ate.
When WIC only gave me 1 can a month, I bought the light blue, newborn stage, with my food stamps and that one worked a little better.. except she still was spitting up.
I got a free sample of Similac in the mail and tried that and she doesn't spit up at all on it. My boyfriend told the Pedi, said we wanted a prescription to Similac Alimentum because she had collic real bad and she sent him home with 2 cans of Enfamil Nutramigen. Which was TERRIBLE. It smelled like fake cheese.
Scarlet stopped eating almost completely and I was back at the Pedi in 2 days. Where they were like "Yea, most babies think it tastes terrible." wtf?! So she's back on Enfamil Stage 1 again with a medicine to help with spit up (haven't given it to her) and I'm pissed.
I like this Pedi overall, just this has been a big issue :/

Im pretty sure they should give you Enfamil A.R. for spit up. My son couldn't use the Enfamil for spit up because it was to thin so I had to switch to Similac sensitive for spit up and pay out of pocket, since California WIC only provides Enfamil. Try to switch to a Pedi that will give you a prescription and see if they will do it.

my first son was the same way with enfamil he could only use good start soy.

if they wont let you switch, you could always apply for food stamps and use that to pay for formula, i dont think it was right of your doctor to say its a pain in the butt and then just give you meds. i would try and go back to the doctor and let them know its still not working, and if they still wont help you switch it maybe look into going to another doctor. good luck to you.
