When did you get rid of pull ups?

My son was a late potty trainer who just got potty trained in January. The thing is I still put him in diapers before we leave the house and at bed time. He hasn't peed at night in over 6 months and actually the other night he woke up and realized at 2 am he had to go and went. But I still dont feel confident yet. How long did you wait until throwing away all the pullups?

Never used them.

I guess I dont really think of it as holding back or damaging to him. He has some speech issues/sensory problems and goes to a special preschool so I'm used to taking things slower with him. I'm just nervous.

I hear you mama, but us with um....how do I say this without offending...um, 'kids who got a little extra challenge' NEED to be stronger IMO. If we hang on to little things and help them go slower, are we really doing the best for them?

Mama, hes a big boy whos done a great job potty training, give him his big boy undies for bedtime! This has NOTHING to do with speech or sensory issues

I have a 4 yr old daughter with no diagnosed problems and she is not potty trained i took pull ups away over a week ago and she still poops her panties but is mostly pee trained. im desperate to get her pooped trained!! id take away pull ups at least give it a try for awhile.. my daughter is doing better since taking them completely away but i think shes way too old to be pooping her panties. she knows excatly where shes supose to poop at and that its not suppose to be done in her panties!

 

I would just get rid of them! Before you leave anywhere make sure he goes potty. And dont give him a drink right before bed and he should be fine.

I think pull ups are a waste..they feel like diapers..never used them and both my kids were pretty trained in a matter of days at two
