Sleeping baby
posted 22nd Feb
DH had to get up super early for work today so DS and I have been sleeping downstairs so DH could get enough sleep. I put DS in his bouncer around 8PM. I woke up around 2 and he was still sleeping. He needed a change so I went ahead and woke him up. He is nursing right now.
Is it ok for him to sleep so long? Or should I wake him up every few hours?

Babies will wake up when they are hungry. I promise he will not starve himself. Let him sleep. We have a rule at my house...let sleeping babies lie. The only time to wake a baby to eat is if he/she is severely underweight or if you are worried about jaundice.

I guess doctors just scare me into think he should eat every 2-4 hours. Lol. As a second time mom, I feel stupid asking these things. Thanks ladies!

For the first month I had to wake my daughter every 3 hours to eat. Because she was little.
But once she reached a certain weight I was able to let her sleep as long as she wanted.
I only wake her if she has pooped.

He's 4 weeks and just barely made it back to his birth weight.

Awe I miss when my baby was 4 weeks, she is 6 months now.
Anyways yeah it's okay to wake in that case.
She was 6lbs when born and dropped to 5lbs.
So he was a little concerned. He wanted her to gain 2 more lbs.
now she sleeps as long as she wants. (:
