I feel so bad :(

So today I went out for supper with my MIL and SIL and I brought my 3 month old son with us. The resteraunt was rediculously packed and the service was absolutely smurfing terrible. Took 45 min just to go menus. We were also sitting next to a table of a young hockey team who's parents were gone. They were smurfing screaming and throwing food and smurf. My son rarely goes out unless its for groceries or something so he was pretty overwhelmed. Finally we got out of there at 9 (we got there at 5). And on the way home mason started crying and mil kept trying to say its good for his lungs. I had never ears him cry like that before an then he puked so I was like that's it I'm going back there. Then mil was saying I need to grow a backbone. Like smurf off he is clearly seriously upset. So I took him out of his carseat and then he calmed down a bit but he was hyperventilating and having a hard time breathing   and then I rushed him in and on the way in the house I accidentally bonked his head on the door because I was trying to hurry cause it was cold. I felt like such an assssss. I started crying with him. But then I got him into bed and cuddled him and he seems fine now I just hope he doesn't think I was trying to hurt him.

Don't feel bad mama. These things happen. There will be a ton more accidents sadly (& yes, you'll cry then too)..Just use this as an excuse for extra cuddles.

The myth about "crying being good for their lungs" is just that a effin myth. Good for you for getting your baby.
don't' worry they have the memory of goldfish, he won't even remember his head hit anything in about 20-30 mins. :-) Baby won't hold it against you.

Babies dont have their Long term Memory stores built up yet so he wont remember what happened but I understand how you felt. The way you are feeling is NORMAL. You are his mommy! Your MIL is stupid... mothers are supposed to care and feel for their babies.. its instinct to want to make them feel better.

Don't worry mama. He will be ok and will love you regardless :] Babies always love their mamas.

Ah thanks for the reassurance! And yeah my MIL is nuts. She was like doesn't it clear out the ears and stuff? I was like uh no it actually causes ear infections. She is pushing me to so the CIO method and I keep telling her how bad it is for babies but she thinks I'm full of smurf. Grr drives me crazy. Don't think i will let my kid sleep at her house any time soon.

I think that is a good decision.. >.> Some people just live by the old way of doing things and can't seem to accept the new studies that have come out and disproved the old ones. :/ Kinda sad but at least you know how you want to parent and that is what matters. Sounds like you are doing an awesome job!
