Duggars and unsafe crib usage?

I know, we all have debated the duggars to death. But I was watching an episode on the DVR and saw something that literally made me go back rewind like 8 times because it seriously shocked me at how bad Anna's crib etiquette was...

It was on episode 88, "Josh and Anna check in." There is a snippet of Michael in the crib and it's a sids nightmare waiting to happen. Good lord... I mean bumpers for one. Now I am not too anal about bumpers... but it has an assload of stuffed animals in the crib. But not only that... this is what really got me... it looks like the entire lining of the crib is thick plush. I am trying to tell if it's just a big pillow or if the crib is lined with a plush they made for it, but it does have a thick plush thing in it that is in no way a baby positioner. So here is Michael in the center of the crib, on one side of him is this plushy nightmare pile of toys, the other is maybe a pillow, but the pillow may line the entire crib (I can't tell). I'm just appalled... I have never seen so much bullcrap in a baby's crib that is that unsafe, but they seemed to top it all, all at once!

If you can watch the episode, it's about 11:06 into the episode per my DVR. I had a crib bumper. But even this crib set up scares me... the bumper was all sorts of haphazard, there were too many toys, and the pillow lining... eeek. Wow. I tend to think that Josh and Anna do better than the rest of the Duggar clan, but I hope they learn some better crib safety methods because those are some serious SIDS risks.

She breastfeeds so maybe she co-sleeps at night and he only sleeps in that during naps?

You know what bothers me, is that you can do everything right and your baby can still die. So instead of calling it SIDS waiting to happen, maybe you should just call it a bunch if smurf in a crib.

How old is the baby?

If the baby died in the crib because of all the stuffed animal it would most likely be suffocation not SIDS. Two im pretty sure the crib is rarely used as they have said before they co-sleep a lot.

Ummmm sids has no explanation if you are saying the baby is going to die from that stuff it would most likely be suffocation....why doesn't anybody get that?!?!

They probably co-sleep!
If you saw my kids crib you would die, pillow pets, stuffed animals, bumpers, everything.
We Co sleep at night. Lol.

How would a bumper cause sudden death? that's suffocation...

Im not saying it would implicitely be SIDS if anything happened, but they always say that all of those factors (Stuff in the cribs and bumpers contribute to the sids percentages) but you are all right, it is a higher factor to suffocate with all that crap. But it was a LOT of crap in that crib. I used bumpers, I gave Lil a blanket, she even had a little stuffed animal blanket thing. But dear god that crib gave me a nightmare! I dont know how old Michael is in this episode.

Do they just have one kid so far? That crib's gonna be more crowded when they smurf out baby number 500 in like a month.

Seriously I think alot of suffocation are turned in as SIDS.
