WWYD?

Going to try to make this short as possible..

3 weeks ago my son got sand in his eyes during preschool (Sensory Sand Table). When I got home from work that night his eye was red, swollen and he could harly open it. He was crying that it hurt so I took him into the ER. They numbed, washed them, gave him antibiotics. He has seen 2 eye Drs since for the same thing. Well he is still unable to open it. He walks around all day covering it with one had. I just was able to get him to wear an eye patch today but its SUPER RED and very moist and seepy today. He has been on 3 drops for 2 1/2 weeks now. I called the Eye Dr today and told them what was going on with no response. I have talked to her almost every other day and she says it takes time, she wouldnt be concerned. The other dr did a dye test and there is no cornea abrasion but a ton of irritation under the upper lid as well and a blood spot.

I am at a lost of what to do. I am scared that this is going to effect his vision or of infection.

So I need some WWYD opinions.

Has he seen an opthamologist? Or just an ER doctor?

He has been to 2 differemt Opthamologists.

He has seen two eye drs since the ER

Not optometrists? I had to bring my daughter to an opthomologist for what turned out to be a piece of metal in her eye

Yes he went to the ER the first night and got them cleaned and started the antibiotic drops. He has seen 2 opthamologists since the ER. One is our regular one which she couldnt do much to get a look. The other is a more advanced practice that she and the ER dr referred me too.

I'm not trying to be difficult here and not misunderstand. There are two types of eye doctors. Optometrists and opthomologists. I was trying to figure out which one she had brought her child to see

Its not getting better. And I keep getting the run around. I dont know what to do and I hate seeing him like this.

I finally a referral for a pediatric surgeon today the Dayton hospital. brought him in today and he surgery Monday morning
