If you weren't/aren't married, but you are together- who's last name did baby get?

My son is not my dude's bio son and his bio dad was never in the picture, so he has my last name.

Our daughter has both our last names, hyphenated.

And baby three will just be having his last name.
Though i'm not totally on board with this

My DH and I were not married when our daughter was born. She has his last name. We'd been together for several years, though, and planned to get married eventually.

I think if yall's daughter shares both of your last names, your second child should too. As for your son, if he loves him like his own he could always adopt your son & he could also have both last names (if you guys plan on getting married).



ETA: My son has my last name because his biological father isn't a big part of his life.

My DS has BD's last name. Future children will probably have DH's last name

ah, yeah, with our daughter we were together but not...'stable' (things were too on 'n off) so we did both last names, this time around it's different- and i don't mind just using his last name, but it does feel weird to have a different last name than my child.

Eta: Now we're getting married next year, so everyone will have the same last name then  

Kenz has her dad's last night and I totally regret that decision. I wish I would have at least hyphenated it OR something.

Especially now, because she wants to have the same last name as Seth & I and I don't even know what, where, or how to go about doing that.  

Since Clara has a hyphenated name, I'd do the same with the new one!

DS has my last name

i was married, but didn't change my name.

max is the ONLY spawn on nick's side, whereas there are approximately 30 billion children for the next generation on my family's side, so i figured his name was going to die out if we didn't let max have it.

max has my last name as his middle name, actually.

She has his last name. We weren't together when she was born but he had been completely involved in everything and planned on continuing that so I gave her his last name. Now we are together again and engaged so this baby will get his last name too.

if seth adopts her (i dont know if that's been done or was going to be done) do you know if it's possible to get it hyphenated after that?

see, my son is the only one passing on that name on our side too since my brother passed, so i don't want to change his ever either. plus, i just love my last name  

my brother had my mom's maiden name as his middle name also

I dont love his last name either. Lol It's hard to say and I always have to spell it out but it's way easier than 2 last names or even 3 if I kept hypenating lol
