re: Backyard breeding

The only time I have ever yelled at my mother-in-law is when she told me she was going to breed their devil dog. She can't afford vet care for the dogs she has. Why would she breed this mean ugly dog? Stupid B.

I really don't know why. We were gonna try to get him into a therapy dog program when he got older. I guess we thought a dog with paper would be a better. We had already put him through the basics in training and started on the next part. We won't be buying next time.

I can understand. If you want specific qualities, a pure bred puppy is the best chance at getting those. I got a pure bred doberman before, and will likely get a pure bred German Shepard in the future. I was specific traits, and the best chance at gettings those things in a puppy is to get a puppy that is pure bred, especially if you can trace it's lineage and it has good breeders.

Also, if there is a puppy already born, then it needs a home also, doesn't it?

I don't agree with backyard breeders or irresponsible owners who add to a huge population of mutts, but I don't think badly of people who want a specific breed of dog either.
