Can I do this?

So I am getting pretty close to my due date I am going to be 39 weeks on sunday. I have an OB appt scheduled for tomorrow and im hoping its my last one. Well problem is, to be honest, I dont like the hospital. I am ok with my OB appts being there but I dont want to deliver there I have another hospital I prefer. I am going to ask them to send my medical records to the other hospital. Will they let me do this?

If your dr delivers there it shouldn't be an issue. My drs are only certified at one hospital.

Does your OB have privileges at the other hospital?

It depends if your doctor has privileges at the hospital you want to deliver at.

You didn't ask this stuff at like your first appointment?

IF you doctor has privileges to deliver at another you can. My last son I was seen at a different hospital and D day my doctor and I meet at the other hospital and he did my c-section.

Well unfortunately because of the hospital I have been going to I have had a different doc every time so I would have a random doc deliver my baby anyways...

I would stick to your hospital. With my first child I had a not so experience when it came to her delivery. I was seen at a different hospital until I was 37 weeks, at that point another dr. decided I was to high risk to deliver at their hospital and sent me to another. I was seen at the other hospital at 38 weeks, the new doctors were scrambling to learn everything they could about me since I could go into labor at anytime. Since my original doctor waited till the last min to transfer me I was told "well I dont know much about your case, so I think its best we do a c-section" I was scheduled that day to have a c-section the next week. I am high risk, but it turns out AFTER I had a c-section they said "well after review, I think you could have had the baby naturally"

So since your almost ready to deliver I would stick to where you have been. Hopefully you can get in and out as soon as possible. Good luck!!

I see a different dr at my appts as well. It's on purpose though at mine, they want me to be familiar with all the drs and midwives, not just one, in case I go into labor overnight or on the weekend. A stranger wouldn't be delivering my baby. But it's all one practice even though it's multiple drs and midwives, so they deliver at the same one hospital.
