Can't lose weight, help!!! Just a little long sorry!

posted 21st Feb
Alright mommas, I know I'm not the only one out there! So my son will be 1 in a month and I still haven't lost any baby weight! I need to lose 35 pounds, I'd like to lose 40 but I'm trying to keep realistic goals! I feel like I try soo many things from trying different diets, atkins, cabbage soup, etc. to at trying to eat healthy such as cut out unnecessary sugar like soda and also cut back on other things like carbs, alcohol, you name it. I also throw in a little ab workout or butt workout or a walk.

I do all these things and my weight literally stays at 175. It really just breaks my heart, I am writing this in tears cause I am so lost. I hate my body, I hate looking in mirrors, I hate when my boyfriend looks at me naked, I always tell him to stop looking at me cause in my mind I feel like he is just thinking how fat I look. I constantly think about my weight, when I'm going to bed, when I'm showering, when I'm driving, and especially when I'm eating. I don't even like to see my friends or family cause I truly feel so ashamed of my weight gain and how much bigger I am. My boyfriend of 4 years who is also the father of my son even tells me my weight bothers him. He says he feels like he's settling cause he can have a girlfriend in great shape. He told me this morning "I need to make some changes to my weight soon or he will be making some changes and I won't like them." He feels like I make excuses when I try to explain now hard this is for me to do. But it is hard to constantly cook all my own meals and take care of my son at the same time cause he is extremely clingy. Also we are living in a hotel so my only means of cooking is 2 electric burners I bought.

So I guess what I am wondering is other moms who have been where I am and are having trouble losing weight what did you do? I have honestly started to feel like I've lost all hope and the only way to get any result is a tummy tuck or something but I don't want to do that, so please any advice helps.

I did weight watchers on my own and lost over 75 lbs. I was much more over weight then you are though.

I know what you mean about having to cook all my own meals, and its expensive, or can be.

So what I do is go to the thedinnerfactory.ca
just goggle it...

anyways, there you prep up to 12 meals that feed a whole family.
and its not that expensive either.
And plus it saves us time and money. considering if we didn't want to cook. then we would go out and spend 30$ on take out.

good luck!

For one, you aren't even a year PP yet. Jeeeeez. He needs to settle his ass down IMO. Comments like "he could get a girlfriend in shape" are hurtful and unacceptable. You could get a boyfriend who wasn't as ass, but you put up with him,. This may be besides the point, but I'm serious. He should be supportive. HELP you make good changes if he cares that much instead of just insulting you adn threatening you.

As far saw weight loss goes, I was very similar to you. I was stuck at about 180. I gained weight with my kids, but each time lost it easily to the 180 mark. I just couldn't seem to get it to budge. Two things changed that. One, for me, I cut out gluten. It turns out I have an intolerance and can't eat the stuff. I had no idea. That was a HUGE help for me. Even now, if I splurge and eat gluten, I'll gain like 5 or 6lbs for a few days because of what it does to my body.

2nd, I was really honest about what I ate. I did weight watchers, but now I just count calories. I write down EVERYTHING I eat. Don't estimate, don't guess, just write. Heck, to start out with just write it down and don't change anything. It's amazing when we actually look at what we eat. Often it's a lot more then we think it is. Myfitnesspal is a free site to use that works pretty well to keep track of it all.

It's a long road. It doesn't happen overnight. You just have to start making healthier choices.

Thank you guys for your advice/input! Ya know I ask my boyfriend to go on walks with me and he just says your the one who needs to lose weight not me. I won't lie he can be an ass when he wants for sure but he can also be sweet as heck lol. He just wants to have his cake and eat it too! I have looked into weight watchers but I don't want to pay for the program and still pay for all my own food cause that's just not affordable, since we are barely making ends meet now. But I think I have found my next challenge, I am going to try juicing for 10 fays at a time! And for times I can't sit around and make my own juice I will have a low sodium v8 or a bolt house juice. I am excited after reading other women's results so I am hoping it works! I will be starting tomorrow! I'll let you guys know how it goes! Yay!

I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but I'm going to be. Juicing isn't realistic. What you need is to learn how to eat. You can't "juice" forever if you're talking about fasts. If you're just incorporating juice into your diet then it's still just a matter of calories and nutrients vs exercise. What you need is to learn how to eat the right foods in the right amounts. That creates sustained weight loss. Fad diets just don't do it. Even if you lose, you WILL gain it back, because whatever you're doing right now is keeping you at your weight.

If you feel you have HONESTLY eaten well and exercise enough and simply can't lose weight, then you need to have a few tests run. Thyroid is a big one, but blood sugar and vitamin levels help too.

He sounds like a jerk. If my husband told me my weight bothered him I would punch him in the nuts. lol Seriously though, if you want to lose weight and get into shape its going to take effort, not just a quick fix of losing water weight. which is what a lot of fad diets do then when you stop that diet the weight comes right back. Eat more veggies and fruits and less fatty and unhealthy foods. also you should try to spend at least a half hour doing exercise. I just wait til my daughter (will be 1 in a couple weeks) goes to sleep and work out then. myfitnesspal.com is a good website/ app to have because you have to keep track of everything you eat. Good luck and I hope you are able to lose that weight

A huge issue for me is working out because I have to be careful. I had a total hip replacement at 20, 2 days after my son was born. So that limits me to some things. I am not allowed to run or jump. I can't do things like lunges cause it pops my hip out of place so I'm limited to walking right now cause that's all I have. But I do get on the floor and exercise like ab/butt/thigh workouts. I have thought about going to the doc to see what he thinks

My aunt actually juices, not for 10 days at a time, but all the time and she looks great. Although I'm not 100% sure exactly what she eats to go with the juicing.

Well then for that reason alone yer dude should be more understanding. if you cant really work out, whats the weight suppose to do? jump off of you. You carried and gave birth to his kid he should be more understanding imo.
I went from 130 to 187 when I was pregnant and I'm 5'6'' I have stretch marks on my stomach legs and boobs and still if my husband ever criticized me for my weight I would kill him. He says that he thinks I'm beautiful and if it wasnt for all the stretch marks and the difference in how I look we wouldn't have our daughter now. Just try to eat healthy and drink a ton of water. Your suppose to drink 1/2 your body weight in oz every day. So if you weigh 150 you should drink 75 oz. of water every day. that will also make you feel more full all day long. and if all you can do is walk you could try walking for 45 mins-1 hr. If you do less than 20 minutes it wont do much.

Yeah I know, sometimes I wish I could just make him see things from my perspective. I tell him all the time even if you got fat I would never say the things you say. I will always love you because I love YOU not the way you look. And holy cow I didn't know you were suppose to drink that much water! I guzzle water all day and night but I don't think I come close to drinking that much lol but thank you I really appreciate your input! I think I'm gonna just do this juice thing as a 10 day cleanse to just give my diet a little kick start. I just figure it's not gonna kill me to try it, hell I try everything else lol

I know what you mean, I wish guys had to go through half the things we go through...
Yes the water thing is crazy, I have a 24 oz cup and I try to drink 4 of them a day but hardly ever do.
The juicing thing isn't a bad idea for a jump start it will be a good cleanse plus you will be able to eat less portions during meal times without feeling hungry, just don't use juicing as your only option.
And no problem, I struggled with how much weight I gained when I was pregnant and that was without someone putting me down on top of everything else. Also, you might try yoga for an easier exercise so you can work your way up and let your body get use to the workouts.

Yes, if only the men could be in our shoes sometimes lol, I've heard them compare kidney stones to having a baby, but we get those too so that cancels out LOL! Great idea on the yoga! I've never even thought of that!
