EEG Q.

My 4 yo autistic son has an EEG scheduled for Monday. I'm more worried about handling him getting it than what it will show.

Any suggestions on it? He has to be sedated for dental exams so I have no idea how we will feel with this. He's not going to settle down or let us mess with his head. Eek  

Do you think they will sedate him? I'm so nervous.

You cant sedate during and EEG because it messes with brain waves and the results of the test. Its not too bad, but my kid did cry and ended up having to be strapped down while they out the nodes on their head and theni got to hold her and stuff when the eeg started. They make them look ast flashing lights and stuff. They like them to sleep sometimes too but my kids EEg was always abnormal and they got what they needed despite not sleeping. I brought the ipad and stuff too good luck
