Oh! I saw it a couple days ago..
Basically, all the people "getting killed" were trying to see if they could spread this special rumor around their college Smiley in hopes that they would become famous. I'm guessing from some of the things they were talking about Anonymous (the real group), they were shot down from joining that group and so they wanted to prove that they could pretty much create a bunch of serial killers because some people like mocking rumors and killers. And they drove this poor girl to insanity in the process which is a plus to them.
That's my take on it at least. Its still pretty smurfed up, but I sickly enjoyed the movie lol.

Lmao, I don't even know how I found it but I saw the preview and thought it was pretty good, so I rented it.

That makes a lot more sense. I was thinking the people who got " killed " became the evil spirit the professor was talking about then I was like wtf because that dude got shocked when that one girl got killed at the end. Btw him and the nerd were pretty hot actually.

Lol yea, my husband caught on way quicker than I did and he was ruining the movie for me hahaha. Its basically just like those 'haunted stories' we hear about some houses and stuff as children and it turns out people just jump out and scare you after daring you to go check it out. Except this is a more adult, more deadlier version. And when the girl killed herself, they were marveling because let's face it, publicity is publicity, whether its bad or good. And what better way to spread the rumor than with an actual death?
And yes they are lol. And the guy they called 'Pedobear' is a Youtube sensation. I was actually surprised when I saw him in the movie lol.
