discharge or water broke

posted 21st Feb
Ok ladies today has been a hard day on this LO for some reason with these mortars and we had one go off and I am hoping this is discharge because all of a sudden I had a gush that went thru my underwear and jeans it looks like I peed myself but its still having a slow leak its clear no real smell but you guys know how easy I have been taking it with my bedrest so tell me did your discharge get so bad it made you wonder...Since I am already in active labor it makes it hard to tell I am going to wait and see if I can fill a pad...I cant have pelvic exams anymore and after all this crap it would be my luck my water has broke so I dont want to go in to LD fight with them about my care and it just be discharge and possibly make labor worse or hurt things by doing an exam

I never once had my water break on its own, but from what I've read about it, it sounds like your water might have broken. If its slowly leaking, that doesn't sound like discharge. I'd go get checked out or at least call the hospital and get their opinion. Good luck mama!

When my water broke it was a gush & then I leaked for a little while until DD was born. I thought I had a leak last week & turns out I have BV so it was just discharge. I would leak through my underwear & pants if I didn't put a pad on. I was put on medicine & it has stopped.

I normally get alot of UTIs have not had one this whole pregnancy man have I been proud
With your BV did you have any smell to the discharge thats what scares me normally my discharge is white this is not even gooey or sticky nothing and I almost thought I really had peed myself till it kept coming regardless of if I peed or not

My water broke with my LO as well. It was like small little gushes you can't stop after the big one. It had no smell or consistency to it at all. I hope that isn't what your going through,

My discharge had no smell & was clear. I thought it was my water so I went to the ER & they tested me.

Having your water break this early can be very serious. You need to be on antibiotics asap if it did break. My water broke with my first baby at just about 23 weeks. I ended up on hospital bedrest until i had him. I was on 2 different types of antibiotics (iv and oral). The problem is that infection can kill both mon and baby very quickly .... like within hours. The chances of getting an infection if you water breaks earlier is higher too.

That sounds like a whole lot more than just discharge. When you go to L&D, they'll do a swab and possibly (probably) a slide to check for ferning. Blue swab = positive for amniotic fluid. A positive slide, they'll say there is ferning.
