Condoms are probably the best bet. I'd be hesitant about taking hormonal BC if you don't need it, you know? Maybe an IUD? the copper one is no hormones. It's just that the hormones can really mess with you, so I wouldn't personally want to be on them if I didn't need to be.

Also, you coudl also do natural family planning. It isn't perfect by any means, but when done right it's pretty effective, and coupled with a vasectomy, I'd say you'd be set. You just would have to not have sex certain days of your cycle.

Or, you could always just have him tested every so often to make sure his vasectomy is still working. Not perfect, again, but an option.

I honestly wont be doing anything extra after my husband gets it done. I mean I would while you wait for it to take but after that nope. What's the point in doing so haha. I def. wouldn't take bc.

I had a horrible experience with Mirena so I don't want that again. lol I talked to my doctor about Paraguard but I have really heavy periods & she said it may make it worse. I thought about getting my tubes tied but my doctor won't do it until I'm 25.

If you're sure you want it done, you can look around. Others might, depending on how many kids you have.

I'll only have two & I'm 21. A lot of people around where I live have told me they usually want you to have 3 kids or be over 25. My BIL's girlfriend had to get a lawyer to get her's done at 20-something, so she says.

There is no law. It's Dr by Dr. They decide if they want to, so you might be able to find a Dr who is willing.

Maybe I'll look around & see if I can find someone that will do it. I REALLY don't want anymore kids. lol I told DH maybe in a few years we can get a puppy.  

Personally, I'd get a Mirena or another IUD, and use condoms. Better to be safe than sorry!
