Transgender contestant kicked off Miss Universe

The organizers of Miss Universe Canada threw out 23-year-old Jenna Talackova when they found out she had undergone surgery to become a woman. She was actually born as a man and started her gender transformation at the age of 14.


It's not much of an article, but what do you think about this? I think she's gorgeous, no matter if she was born a woman or not. They should have let her stay.

I don't think your anatomy has anything to do with your gender.

Why'd they kick her off? Surgery or not, she's a woman.

I don't care what she was born with, if she says she's a woman, she's a woman. A beautiful one at that. I think she should have been allowed to compete.

Also, if they kicked her off for having surgery to enhance her feminine appearance, then that rule should stand for every contestant that's ever had a nose job, boob job, colored their hair or done any other physically alteration to their appearance for the sake of beauty.

Darlin, you can not tell me that every blonde in a pagent was born a blonde.

I recently watched an episode of "taboo" on youtube (Discovery Channel) about a boy in the process of becoming a woman who went to Thailand to get her bones shaved to feminize her face. They shaved her brow bone and jaw as well as put a silicon shaper in her nose and did other nose work as well. It was nuts, but I understood why she did it.
