My sister passed away.

My 18 year old sister was killed in a car accident on Jan 11th at 11pm. 2013. She was the third of six kids, i am the oldest. The driver was drunk, she was too, and she got into the car with him. There were four kids in the car, none wearing seat belts, all drunk. The other three survived with minor, MINOR injuries. My sister was in the back seat behind the driver. They say they were on the interstate and the driver didnt see that traffic was stopped ahead [because of construction] and he ran right into the back of an 18 wheeler without swerving or slowing down. My sister was killed instantly.
We have never really experienced death before and it is crippling. I dont know what to do most days. My close family lives out of state and i know that when im around people i make them feel uncomfortable because they dont know what to say. it is unreal....how do people get through this?

Therapy may help you a lot. Meditation, plant a tree in her memory and care for it, send a balloon with letters to her, write something to her on a floating lantern and release it at night, plant a flower each year on her birthday, create a memorial for her <3

Thanks those are all very good ideas. We released balloons at the funeral, and I think we will again on anniversaries. I feel silly talking to her. I have never been religious really, and as much as id love to believe she is in heaven with god, i have doubts because i have always had them.

My theory has always just been, I don't know. And that's okay. Even if she can't hear you, you still have feelings and words you wish she could hear. She will continue to live on as long as you keep her memory, through this you will keep her alive and with you.

I also dont believe in heaven or god etc.. but i do believe in spirits. I believe that they can hear and see everything we do and look after us. Im am so sorry for your loss. The only advice i have for you is to talk about it..Let it all out. Bottling it up will only make it worse.. Your sister is probably looking at you now saying 'cheer up, im still here'.. Talk to her, noone will think your being silly.

Feburary 3rd, 2008, my lil sister Tara died...

She was only person killed, the driver who caused accident was high on pills, she lost 1 leg... no criminal charges were filed, because some smurf happend with the tox screen,

She was sober, and wearing her seatbelt... was ejected from car... we couldn't even have open casket... sheriffs told us to not try to see her, she was in 3 pieces...

I'm very sorry u have to go thru this because some people are soo stupid... I am here when/if u want to talk,
