Staph/boils HELP!!!

I've been getting boils ever since my c-section. My daughter is 20 months. I FINALLY caved and was seen at the ER (insurance issues). Well they gave me cephalexin and sulfamethoxazle. I have taken this a year ago and it did nothing. Well, my boils are all getting very painful and very hard. I've only been on it for abot 15 hours.. I'm actually getting worried.... things I thought were pimples have turned into full blown boils, and I have one behind my ear....

Is this a normal reaction to the medicine?

I'm pretty sure if you have a boil on or around your head then you need to go in and be seen.

I had a boil on the palm of my hand a few months ago, which turned out to be mrsa. I got it worked on, started the antibiotics, and never saw another boil. I wouldn't say that it's a normal reaction...

I'm glad you were finally seen. But I think you need to go back.. That sounds painful.

Yeah. I thought it was a bug bite.... my step-mom said she can't tell if it is a pimple or a boil. I RARELY get pimples...so I'm pretty sure it's a boil... it's small...so I want to wait it out. They treat me like smurf everytime I go in there, like not having insurance is a happy decision I made.... ugh.

Do you have any drawing salve? I'd keep a warm compress on it and if it gets bigger, or gets worse I would definitely go in!

My hands were really messed up for a while. They were peeling, cracking, and at times bleeding. Nothing I used seem to help them. Well I guess from them being so messed up I ended up with a bacteria infection/staph/mrsa...whatever on my right palm.

It was so bad that I couldn't rest my arm to my side without feeling like my hand was going to explode, that is the only reason why I went in. The dr said if I would have waited another 24 hours I probably would have lost my hand. It didn't even look that bad until they sliced my hand open. Boils are nothing to mess around with.
