My DH has one and the doctor said it was just a cyst. That was like 3 years ago though and he still has it. It bugs him every now and then but for the most part he just lives with it.

Does it/did it cause pain? Did it show up out of no where? How did they determine it was a cyst, and not... well, cancer.

Yeah, it causes him pain sometimes. They never checked him for cancer and never actually said for sure if it was a cyst(could also be a clogged duct or whatever). I'm guessing if it was cancer we would know by now since he's had it for a few years though.

Hmm. I don't know if what my SO has causes him pain, or not. He doesn't know I know that he has it. He's going for an ultrasound (no idea when) but I'm so freaking worried over this. I'm really hoping it turns out to be a cyst or something else that's not harmful.
