My daughter was 18 months when my son was born. Her grandparents watched her at our home and then brought her to visit.
I guess it depends ojn how old the child is. but hospitals are freakin boring. I wouldn't want my kid there sittin around

My son was with his grandmother. For scheduled c-sec, I had to be at hospital at 10am for prep. I went off to theatre around 1 vut didn't start surgery until around 1:30. my son is 2 and gets very restless, it would have been far too long for him to sit around waiting and hospitals definitely are boring. MIL took my son shopping, bought me a few presents and brought my son in once I was back in my room. Out was much better that way and gave me and SO some time alone with the baby.

I actually didn't have my kids there until the next day, realistically the hospital didn't want too many people in there the first night anyways, plus it all depends on when you go into labor or when your scheduled c-section is.. i was late at night with my labor so my daughter was already asleep and my son was out of town with his bio-mom. the next day though they both came for a little and then left.

my c section is may 10 n for sure my son will be there
some of my family n my bfs family as well

Thank you. We didn't know with my son but when they turned the pitocin on it was fine until a certain point I was 5cm. They turned it off because his heart rate was going down below 90's and then they turned it on once he got back up to normal and then he dipped again. They checked me and in 5 minutes I went from 5cm to 8 cm but they didn't want to try the pitocin again so she said try to push and see if the cervix will open a little but he was stuck so he wasn't budging. When he came out via c-section he had the cord wrapped around 1 time. So crazy.

I guess the time will depend on it for sure. I am hoping it's first thing in the morning. But I know it can be un predictable if emergencies happen before yours.

I was groggy my last csection it's hard to tell how much time it took. It felt like everything was done sooo quickly . Visiting and everything but I know I was just out of it from the magnesium.

I figure he can bring some of his toys and iPad. And there is a park right outside of the hospital so there are options while he waits. I guess I'll see what time they schedule it for. I'd really like him to be there. Just didn't know if this was common or not to do so!
