I don't have a lot od knowledge on this, but what about CPS? Also, been he file for full custody?

This. Call CPS. If there is a lock on her door, they will see it. That is not okay. Also, if she hits her with hangers, there would probably be marks. Take pictures with date stamps, and show them to CPS as well.

Call CPS and they will talk to your niece. Hopefully, she won't be too scared to tell the truth. They will talk to her alone of course. Hopefully your brother will get custody. She sounds horrible. Was she bad to her daughter before they split up?

And my brother had mentioned to the court about the lock on her door, They told my brothers ex wife to stop. My niece said her mom took it off for a while and she put it back on.
And my brother did try to get full custody of her, but he can't prove that shes a unfit parent.

She was never a good mom to my niece.
My mom was the one that practally raised her. There was one time when one of the twilight movies came out in theater, my niece was burning up real bad with fever. She didnt care she wanted to leave, until my mom chewed her ass out about wanting to leave when her child is sick.
Theres a cop that lives 3 houses down from us, my brother went over to talk to him to see what they can do. To see if they will talk to my niece. They said no, that shes way to little for them to talk to her.

What makes it so weird, when she lived with us she was never a heavy sleeper.
Makes me wonder if she's doing drugs now or something And for her to beat her like that. Unless she hits her like that because she looks alot like my brother.
I dont know. But things dont seem right with her at all.
We wonder if we should try putting a recorder in my nieces back pack.
But can't you get real big trouble for that?

CPS... And five isn't too young. Most 5 year olds can even testify in court. CPS has counselors who specialize in working with small children.

Yup kids as young as 2 or 3 if they can communicate with someone. That cop b/s'ed your brother. They can speak to hear about wat mommy does. That's why we have trained child phycrtrist nowadays.

And send CPs on her ass.

And I do not believe a tape record would illegal. I know a dad who put one in his special needs kids backpack an recorded the abuse he received while at school. If u believe she's being hurt that would atleast be proof for them to investigate
