Hamburger Meat

I bought some hamburger patties from the grocery store today. The package says i t was processed today. When I got home the top patties had brown spots in random spots. The patties on the bottom where way more brown. Is that normal?

The sticker lied, they're about a day or two old.

I'd say yes, meat isn't actually red, it's dye.

Smell it, the last time I had burger in my fridge too long, it turned greenish, not brown.

Unfortunately some stores will try to get away with it so they don't have to stale it out and lose money.

Try peeling up the sticker. I've heard of stores putting stickers on top of stickers when stuff doesn't sell.

The meat is probably fine though.

Thanks ladies! It didn't smell bad or anything. I read that it can be normal for it toturn brown because it isn't getting oxygen. I'll check the sticker but it didn't seem like there was more then one when I opened it.
