tugging at ear

my daughter who is 5.5 months old has been rubbing/grabbing./tugging at her left ear for the past several days and I didn't think anything of it but her development worker today suggested it could be sore/infected.
I kind of thought she just.. found her ear lol and she can't grab her right ear so I didn't think much of it just being the one side.
she's also teething right now if that matters

is the ear rubbing cause for concern? should I be taking her to the pedi?

Whenever my kids grabbed their ear as babies it meant they were teething. It wouldn't hurt to get her checked out just to make sure it isn't an infection though.

I would have her checked. My 2nd always did that when her ears were infected. Is she running a fever? Have a runny nose?

she has no other symptoms of an infection at all

my son was doing that and at his check up the doc check them and they were fine. He'd do it every time he was having a fit which would lead someone to assume ear infection. If she isn't showing any other signs but pulling on it I wouldn't worry about it.

I always took my son in when he tugs at his ear 75% of the time it ended up being an ear infection or his throat was sore.
