IUD removal question

I have to have a hysteroscopy this thursday (2/21) to remove my embedded mirena, I just started my period on Tuesday (2/19), wondering if I'll still be able to have the procedure done or am i going to have to reschedule it? which i don't want i've been taking a lot of days off work lately due to kids and hub, and feel horrible and my hub too having to take time off work. I'm going to call today to find out as i don't want to drive over there in the snow storm we're supposed to be getting to get told i have to reschedule cuz of it, but just wasn't sure if any of you lovely ladies have dealt with this.

My doctor prefers to put in and take out IUDs while women are on their period because the cervix is softer but idk if it's the same when it's embedded. Give the office a call.

I started the day before I had my embedded Mirena removed, and my ob still removed it. He said it doesn't matter to him.

I don't know why it would matter.

well i called and they wanted to wait. so now have to wait another 2 weeks to have it done. smurffy considering i was getting it out cuz of the irregular periods i'm known to have one every 2 weeks so if i'm having issues next time i'm just going to say screw it and they're going to try anyways.

I had a hysteroscopy (sp?) while bleeding (we werent sure if it was my period, long story what my body was doing) and while I wasnt doing it to remove my IUD, they were able to check on my IUD and do other stuff at that time. So you should be able to do it while on your period or off it, you should be able to get it removed at any time honestly.
