Stupid drs. How do they miss this stuff? (TMI) vent

So I had my c-section on 2-5. I was on the fast track to healing & was feeling good. I considered myself lucky. Hardly any bleeding, not a lot of pain. Well a few days ago I was cramping & I stood up & felt this huge mess fall out. I was like wtf? So I go to the bathroom & there on my pad is this huge clotted mess. It was about 2lbs 6 inches long about 3 inches wide ... thats just approx. I freaked & yelled for hubby. I didn't really want to look at it. Well when I did I realized it kinda looked like when I had my miscarriage. Hubby agreed. So I called the obgyn on call since mine was out of town. Well she tried saying it was normal & prob. just a clot & just to put my feet up. So I took pictures of the thing on my phone & threw it away. Well I can't get the pics on here but I'm showing my reg. obgyn the pictures when he is in town next week. I don't understand how they missed this inside of my body. Then my incision came open & I went to the ER & they didn't do anything but put gauze on it. My bleeding has slowed and it looks better now but I actually bled for a day and half & it really pissed me off. I went to the ER & called the oncall obgyn & they said just use gauze. You think they would of stitched it back together, at least I know my obgyn would have cause I called his nurse but of course I had to speak w/ the one on call. Err... Just frustrates me. Been doing good & now I feel like I will never heal to go back to work. thanks for letting me vent.

I don't know about the clot, but I don't think they stitch people back up if an incision opens.

the clot thing was normal - the scab of your placenta falling off. very common and normal. the incision coming open is an occational complication that happens - can't be predicted or prevented. usually caused by lifting too much and sometimes happens more commoning to overweight patients

They are having. You "pack the wound" with peroxide & gauze? JW I had to do that.

all of this above.....the clot couldve been a chunk of afterbirth.

Both normal. If the clot was placenta you would have been having symptoms of something being wrong all along. When the placenta comes out it leaves an open wound in your uterus, the clot was probably the "scab" covering the wound so it would heal.
And they don't restitch if your incision opens, packing it with gauze is standard procedure.

Np, they should explain this type of stuff better.
