I was so mad when I went to a Walmart that was kinda far from my house. I could not find any natural hair products.

I know right! I hate that little ethnic section in the hair care aisle. Just three little shelves of space in an entire aisle.

The Walmart in my neighborhood has really jumped on board with natural hair products! I love it

I live in between Galveston and Houston and I've noticed that we have a larger Hispanic food section compared to other Walmarts I've lived near, and near the pharmacy there are Hispanic versions of scrapes and burns creams. But, that's about it. I like it, though. The Hispanic brands are always cheaper so I typically buy them.

I haven't noticed if they do. The thing that would come to my attention if they did is there is a walmart in a neighboring city that every time I stop by there, I notice a clear Muslim population. Which seems odd to me, it's kind of random, not sure why they are drawn there, there is a very small population of Muslims anywhere else. But I've never seen any... Indian food? Sorry, don't know a lot about them, but it's all the same foods as the other Walmarts.

Not really. I live in AZ, with a huge Mexican population, and every Walmart I've ever been in has had less than 1/2 an aisle for hispanic food.

Makes sense though, if it sells, sell more of it.

Its called good business ... there's no point in carrying items that aren't going to sell.

I know a lot of Muslims live in San Antonio (my husband used to live there). I've never been to TX though so I don't know what area that is.. All the Muslims I know there are Iraqi.

Where I live there are a lot of Iraqis and Somalis and Bulgarians but I only ever see 'regular' stuff at the Walmart here.

Smart buyers for stores know their customer demographic and get those items on the shelves.

What does that mean? Food stamps go as far in Target where I am at.

We have a large asian population so we get all the cute food and yummy treats.

Really? I live smack dab in the middle of Houston and Galveston and all I've seen are the typical brands. Of course, I've lived in the area my whole life so maybe it's more than the rest of the country, but to me the Hispanic foods/brands is minimal. Maybe I'm just used to it.

I live in the same area as you, actually, closer to Kemah. I wouldn't say the selection is large by any means, but larger than what I've seen up North where I'm from as far as Walmart goes. I'm used to an itty bitty section, basically 2 shelves, that consists of a few spices, vigil candles, and some Goya nectar...that's it, lol.

Lol I used to work at the Kemah Boardwalk all last year and the year before. Howdy neighbor! Haha.
Yeah, I've never lived anywhere else except the Houston area, grew up in La Porte and lived in Pearland before moving to League City. And they all have about the same amount of selection of Hispanic items. And yeah, I guess if up north they only have two shelves of Hispanic products, then I guess we do have more than the norm. lol

Hey! *waves obnoxiously*

I love Kemah. I mean, it's not like it's extremely exciting, but it's nice to pass time there.

What's strange to me is that I've noticed more Hispanics (while out and about) where I'm from, MD, than I have in the year that we've lived here so it's kind of weird that stores in MD aren't stocked up. I mean I'm not saying that MD has a larger Hispanic population than Texas, but I just find it odd. lol
